Helvetica Documentary
I found this documentary to be very informative, and kind of interesting. Because of watching this I am more aware of the different types of font that are shown in public places. I learned about the process of how people who create fonts, create the fonts. It was kinda interesting to learn that it is better when creating a font to use white on the actually letters and black inside the letters.

For this project we took a picture of ourselves and then drew over the features of our face to come up with a drawing of ourselves (self portrait). once we had finished that we then were able to add color to the picture to make it look more inviting and interesting. It's not completely finished but still looks pretty good. :)

self portrait brick wall

For this exercise we had to take our picture and change the background to the brick wall. To do that you have to make a layer mask and then you are able to paint over the green shown in the original picture. once you get rid of all the green then we added the layer that had just the plain brick wall we were then able to make any adjustments needed to make the background look like it wasn't photoshopped. to help get rid of the green glow i used curves and levels, then i used the healing tool to get rid of any unwanted blemishes.

The clone tool is a very cool tool, it can also be very tedious to use. since it replicates the pixels you select it can start to look bad, so you have to make sure you don't keep using the tool in the same place.

Proportion: This picture shows a vast space of water and land. we can tell by looking at the picture that it huge area.
Rhythm: this picture has a good sense of rhythm, it may make the person looking at it think about a slow moving river during a nice hot day. it has a flowing rhythm.
Emphasis: I think the emphasis is mainly on the water, by looking at the water you can actually see the whole picture. Also the vibrant blue color reflected from the sky is eye catching.
Unity: This picture has a very constant use of the colors blues and green, with the reflection of the land in trees on the water along with the sky it creates unity.

The last and final steps taken in creating the picture below was changing the exposure. We were able to chose weather we wanted the picture to be over exposed, or having more or less shadow. I chose to have more shadow added in the picture giving it the look you see now.
